Hi

Way back in Toad 9.6 there was a right click menu item to select all highlighted objects for rebuilding. I have not been able to find this option in the recent Toad version - can some one tell me where this option was moved to?

If it was taken out, could some one please point me to a Toad 9.6 download so that I can install that version?

Cheers

Note that Toad 9.6 came out before Oracle 11g R2 (currently only supported version of Oracle not requiring extended support) and so if you're on 11gR2 then you're in grey zone and unsupported ....

Yeah I know, but Toad 9.6 has the great option of being able to select multiple objects from the screen to rebuild. With Toad 11 I have to load the objects and then select them one by one to do the rebuild.

Cheers

Database -> Optimize -> Rebuild Multiple Objects.

There are various ways to load the screen with tables (by schema, tablespace, or matching a 'like' pattern), then you can pick the ones you want to rebuild

Yup, I can load the objects to rebuild, but I am wanting to rebuild 500 indexes, how can I select all 500 without having to select one by one?

Cheers

You can multiselect the ones you want, then rt-click the "include" column header, then choose "check selected". Anytime you see a checkbox in a grid in Toad, that popup menu will exist on the column header.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. You have no idea how much easier you have made my life. I have been searching for this for a long time now (ever since Toad 10, and have kept Toad 9.6 on my desk top just for this feature. When my desk top failed on the week end and needed a complete reimage, I found that I did not have a copy of Toad 9.6 and thus became very worried / frustrated.

Hmmm...if you multiselect and rt-click the indexes from the SB, do you not have a 'rebuild' option? I see that in the current beta and it's been there for a while.

Hi there,
Not sure what version you're currently using, but in v11.6 Help, here's the info you'll need:
Help | Contents | Work with Objects | Rebuild Objects
