I am trying to compare init parameters between two instances. While I
can do this with database compare and it gives me scripts to sync
one to be like the other- I don't really want to do this. (going
from 8i to 9i with new 9i db creation and import) I don't want to
add obselete parameters to 9i. Is there a way to create a side by
side comparison for the output? it would be much easier to read) ie-

parameter inst1 inst2

parm1 value value
parm2 value
parm3 value value
parm4

Thanks

You are almost there!

On the Compare Databases Output screen, where you see
'Objects Which Differ'
'INIT.ORA'

R-Click on INIT.ORA and choose 'Show Difference Details'

This will popup both INIT.ORAs in the Toad File DIFF gui. Very handy,
and hopefully just what you are looking for.
