Connecting to Subversion from Toad

When I try to connect to Subversion in Toad it just hangs.

This is in the log file:

It works when I run svn.exe list --username **** --password ****

<https://vm01scmdev01.citnet.cit.com/svn/eBOSS_CAN/trunk/Database/DEV/>
from the command line

Any help would be greatly appreciated

My Error. I see the logfile information. I hadn't had my coffee yet before my initial reply .

It looks like everything should work as the two lines appear identical.
A couple of questions.
How long is the response time for the list command, when you run it from the command prompt? Is there a large result set.?
Are there any special characters in the username / password?

The list commond takes 4 or 5 seconds when I run it from the command line.

It doesn't return anything in the result set it just goes back to the command prompt.

No, there are no special characters in the username / password.

If the 'List' command does not return any values form then Toad cannot access any Subversion projects. Toad should not lock up in this case, but I need to test.

Can you test against a different URL that has active projects? Also is this Team Coding or File based source control?

Hey Stephen,

If I don't enter a user name and password when connecting to Subversion from Toad it connects successfully and I can now setup the Code Collections.

Yes very curious. I need to refresh my knowledge about SVN and authentication, but it appears that you are already authenticated to SVN on your desktop so Toad does not need to authenticate again. Clutching at straws here ... Is it possible that you are authenticated in SVN on your desktop as a different user than the username you entered in Toad?

I would try to do a restore defaults in the SVN Configuration window. This will delete all you login and encrypted password information from Toad SVN Login Window. There may be something saved incorrectly. This is a long shot, but probably worth trying.

If you do not want to lose Toad's login information, you can make a copy of SVN.INI file, in your Toad User Files directory. You can find the User Files location in Options-General - Application Data.
